Huddersfield Town Women Devs are taking a short trip to West Yorkshire for a derby against Leeds United.
On Tuesday, Huddersfield Town Women Development Team travel to Leeds United to see if they can continue their unbeaten run this season. The hosts are also on a current unbeaten streak, with their last defeat coming back in March.
Top of the League Town travel the short distance to their local rivals. Last time out the match ended all square with both teams earning a point.
Town started well in the first half with Macy Ellis scoring in the opening minute of the game, with Tara Duce scoring to make it two to Town. However a late fight back from United made the game all square at full-time.
The Terriers will be looking to increase their lead at the top of the table, by beating rivals Leeds United Reserves. Town Women Devs have four games in hand on Chorley, but are level on points, however, Town have a better goal difference.
A victory against the Whites will extend the lead at the top, with the season coming to a close, Town Devs will be looking to finish at the top of the table to cap a brilliant unbeaten season.
Speaking ahead of the game, Devs manager Alan Eastwood said:
“We were fantastic as a team last week, we have come so far as a solid unit. We need to be doing it consistently now until the end of the season, if we keep applying the positives to each game then we should be in for a great finish.”
On the team as a whole:
Goals from all areas of the pitch, and a solid defensive set up from the front to the back, is what has got us to where we are in the table. It’s great not having to rely on one or two players for goals.
The strength in depth, energy and attitude of those coming on as subsitutes in the games is fantastic. We just need this from them for the remaining games, and the players know they have to be ready for the vital games ahead.
