After a brief hiatus from league football where Town beat Durham 4-2 in the cup, the Terriers return to action as they look to go top above Middlesbrough.

To do this they’ll have to beat a Hull City side that go into the game in extremely contrasting form to their hosts, which has seen them fall to ninth in the table. They have also conceded 20 goals in their last four league outings, including conceding eight twice. The Town attackers will therefore be hoping for a high-scoring afternoon as they go into the game on very good form.

Huddersfield are the only side unbeaten in the league this season and have shown plenty of attacking prowess throughout their matches so far; scoring twenty in their last four matches and netting four in at least three of those.

Town forward Falone Sumali has already scored eleven this season and sits third in the top goal scorer’s chart. But just one goal against this weekend’s opponents will send her joint top.

Town will have to be wary of Hull’s Olivia Sellars, who is their top goal scorer this season, having scored three of their six goals in the league.

Devs manager Alan Eastwood has been sharing his thoughts ahead of the fixture: “We need to make sure we put in another decent performance so we can go into the Christmas break on a high and with no regrets. Its an opportunity to empty our tanks before a deserved few days off but once again we have to carry on the momentum from last week.

“League positions mean nothing if you don’t turn up on the day. This week we have to start on top from the very first whistle and fight for every single ball but be wise with it in possession. Hull are always a tough side to play against so for one last time in 2021 we need to dig our heels, stick to the game plan and work for each other to ensure we get the right result.”

Town welcome Hull to the Stafflex in a 2pm kick off, with updates on social media throughout
