MATCH REPORT – U13 Juniors – Home to Millmoor

HTWFC U13’s 0 – 1 Millmoor u13’s

The U13s were at home for the 1st league game of the season against a strong Millmoor side.

Town started the game well playing some great football and creating a few chances early on but it was Millmoor who scored the only goal of the game against the run of play. Town continued to push for a equaliser and they came very close when Lucia Morrisons shot was cleared off the line by the Millmoor defender.

Half time 0-1

The 1st 10 minutes of the 2nd half were fairly even but then for the rest of the half it almost became attack against defence with town really pushing forwards for a equaliser but they couldn’t break down the resilient Millmoor defence. They could and should have had a penalty with around 15 minutes to go when Imaan Ali was brought down in the area but the referee decided there was no contact. Town continued to threaten a equaliser getting corner after corner and having shot after shot but they just couldn’t find a way past Millmoor’s keeper who received player of the match for them.

Full time 0-1

Towns player of the match went to Sienna Noble who put in a real captains performance.

Overall the result was disappointing but the performance from all the town girls was excellent.

Next up for the 13s is another home game, this time Dronfield are the visitors.
