MATCH REPORT – U18 Juniors – Home to Doncaster Belles

HTWFC U18’s 1 – 2 Doncaster Belles

Town entered this game with just ten players and gave everything before losing narrowly to their South Yorkshire visitors.

A goal up from Isobella’s early strike, Town dominated much of the first half with Mia Harris hitting the woodwork from 30 yards with the goalkeeper well beaten.

Doncaster’s best opportunity of the first period was thwarted by a brilliant one handed save from keeper Alex McKie.

The visitors drew level after a sustained period of pressure when keeper McKie could only parry the close range effort into the net.

From then on the game swung one way then the other and Town eventually succumbed with a low strike from the edge of the box.

Although Town continued to threaten the Belles goal, their keeper’s handling and positioning ensured they left with the points.

Player of the match:  Erin Kay for a performance described by one parent as “absolutely outstanding and best game I have seen her play in 4/5 years. Didn’t put a foot wrong.”
