U12’s LEAGUE – Town stretch their unbeaten run to 14 games.

1st February 2020

Our U12’s stretched their unbeaten run to 14 games as they drew against a very hard working and resilient Handsworth side.

The 1st half was very even with both teams defending well and neither team creating too many clear cut chances. Town did eventually take the lead from a corner when Evie Franks cross fell to Sienna Noble who laid the ball back to Ruby Haigh on the edge of the box who placed the ball into the bottom corner.

Half time 1-0

The 2nd half again started very even but it was Handsworth who equalised when they capitalised on a town mistake and they slotted the ball past our stand in keeper for the day Imogen Butterworth.

For the next 10 minutes it was Handsworth who piled pressure on town’s defence but town were very resilient and never really looked like conceding another goal. Into the last 10 minutes and this time it was town who put the pressure on Handsworth creating plenty of chances but unable to find a winner.

1-1 full time.

Overall a great game of football and on the day a draw was a fair result. Player of the match went to Ruby Haigh after not only scoring a goal but was very solid in defence.

Next Saturday the under 12’s are at home to Handsworth in the league cup semi final, 10.30am ko
