U12’s League – Town win with very good performance in tough conditions against a very physical Barnsley side

4th January 2020

The 1st game of 2020 ended with a win and very good performance for the u12s in tough conditions against a very physical Barnsley side.

Town dominated the early parts of the game and took the lead when Grace Jaggers Cross was met and superbly finished by Sienna Noble. Barnsley managed to get themselves into the game and scored 2 quick goals to go into the lead 2-1. Before half time town managed to get a equaliser, the goal came from Lucia morrison who pressed the Barnsley defence and slotted the ball passed the keeper.

Half time 2-2

The 2nd half was total dominance from town, so much that our keeper Mia Jovic didn’t have a touch of the ball. Defensively the girls were much more solid and they played great football for the entire half. They regained the lead from a corner which was turned into the net by a Barnsley player. Town pushed on to get more goals but due to some poor finishing the 4th didn’t come until the last minute when Evie Franks scored a great goal from the right hand side.

Overall a very dominant performance from the girls however more composure in front of goal is definitely needed.

Player of the match went to Ava Jones.
