Hannah Burgess scored a hat-trick for the Terriers to keep the pressure on SAFG Utd at the top of the table.

Town were always in control of the game and made a bright start with some free flowing moves and wing play. It took only 3 minutes for the deadlock to be broken when MOM Molly Firth raced clear to slot home from close range.6 minutes later it was Harris’ turn to get in on the action finishing off a goal mouth scramble which again came from classy build up play.

Town defended a couple of Barnsley corners but saw out a fine first half display to put them 2 in front at the break.

HT – 2-0

Barnsley came back into the game in the second half with their striker causing a few problems but Grace Redfern was brave in nets to pounce at the feet of the number 6 to stop a certain goal. Moments later Redfern saved well in the corner as Town started to creep back into the game.

Burgess was reintroduced from the bench after Harris somehow headed over from a yard out with the goal at her mercy but made no mistake after rounding the keeper to give Town a comfortable lead.

Firth became the catalyst for Town in the final 15 minutes as she set up Burgess and Rejiba from the wing who both finished well before Burgess completed her hat trick to top off a fine display.

Full time: HTWFC 6-0 Barnsley
Scorers: Burgess x3, Firth, Harris, Rejiba
