Huddersfield Town 6 – 0 Sheffield United
After a nervous and hesitant performance in the first-half, Town stepped up the tempo after the break to destroy the visitors resistance with some scintillating football and clinical finishing to win the cup in style.
The first goal of the game came in the 48th minute when Town broke in to the box and the unfortunate Blades defender, attempting to prevent the ball reaching a free attacker, knocked the ball into an empty net.
Impressive Tegan Stewart-Pybus headed home from Gaby Pearson’s cross to calm Town’s nerves on 58 minutes.
Five minutes later, the game was put beyond the visitors’ reach when Laura Hulme smashed home the excellent Alex Mckie’s pass.
On 66 minutes player of the match Alyssa Valenti latched on to Pearson’s pass to ride two tackles before driving home from 12 yards.
In the 70th minute Isobella Kington was played in by Madison Rodd to calmly slot the ball into the bottom corner.
In the final minute Kington set up Hulme, who completed her double with a superb finish to complete the rout.
