Huddersfield Town 8 – 0 Barnsley Red
Town prevailed with a goal feast against a struggling Barnsley side to maintain their five point advantage at the top of division one.
Despite a series of great saves from the Barnsley keeper and a plethora of missed chances, Town eased themselves in to a 3-0 halftime advantage with a brace from Laura Hulme after an excellent opening goal direct from a free-kick by skipper Gabriella Pearson.
The hosts pressed home their dominance in the second period with two goals each from Isobella Kington and the unstoppable Hulme before Alyssa Valenti completed the scoring with a solo effort on 71 minutes.
Town player of the match was Millie Rumney with a superb exhibition of overlapping support play at left back.
