Worksop 2 – 3 Huddersfield Town
Town came out on top against tough opponents to take the points and stay five points clear at the top of Division 1.
After an early scare was thwarted by stand-in keeper Lucy Grice when smothering the ball at the feet of the advancing striker, Laura Hulme notched her 20th goal of the season to put Town ahead.
The lead was short-lived as Worksop levelled three minutes later with a low strike from the right hand side of Town’s box.
Lois Mattock hit a sweet left-foot strike into the top right-hand corner to regain the initiative for the visitors on 22 minutes.
The impressive player of the match Lucy Grice, now in a more familiar central midfield position, broke through on the half hour to put Town in control with a superb drive in to the top right-hand corner.
The second half saw Worksop taking the game to Town and pulled one back on 52 minutes when their striker latched on to a through ball to roll the ball past Keira Millward.
The home team pressed for an equaliser with their direct approach but the league leaders held on to edge the game.
